Monday 12th May - As you are probably all aware by now Paul Gould was involved in a traffic accident while competing in the Sotonia 25 mile Time Trial at Poole on Sunday. The latest news is that Paul sustained serious, but not life threatening injuries. All are thoughts at this time are with Paul and his wife Dot. Dot would like to pass on to all our members to be very careful when riding or racing and stressed the importance of keeping our heads up and to be fully aware of where we are going.

Paddy Dunn is urgently seeking marshals for the Portland Port/Lloyd Coward Memorial Road race on Sunday June 8th. The race will be using the same circuit as last year based on our Gallows Hill 10 course and headquartered at the D'Urberville Hall in Wool. Paddy can be contacted here or by telephone on 01305 779428 to offer support.

Due to work commitments and a desire to do some racing, our Newsletter editor is having difficulty in finding the time to produce the next edition. It is likely that it will not appear until July. However, if there is someone within the club who would be willing to take up the position, a volunteer would certainly be welcomed. If you feel able to produce 5 - 6 editions per year, please contact Chris Jones here.

Our condolences go to Peter and Jan Washington on the recent sad loss that has befallen them. The thoughts of all CCW members are with them at this time.

Former member Peter Gibbs has been in touch to promote his B & B in the French Pyrenees only an hour from the Col D'Aspin and 80 minutes from the Col de Peyresourde and the Port de Bales. View the website here or from the Links page.

1st May - A new advert on the Small Ads page.

Open 10 win for Julian Thacker. Full result here and write up on News page.

There has been some feedback about the long reliability trials, which the committee considered this week. Jeremy Guy is now working on a programme for next winter that will see the addition of a 75 mile event. It is also proposed to start the programme in December and complete by the end of January to avoid clashes with the start of the racing season. Finally, the routes are to be simplified and placed on roads that will not be such a hazard if conditions are icy.

13th March - New 2008 events on the road and some exciting local triathlons have now been added to the Other Events page here.

The final club night of the winter was again poorly supported and are unlikely to be repeated next winter. Please make your thoughts known to any committee member on just what you would like to see in the way of winter meetings.

An opportunity to holiday in a group or individually in South West France is available to view here. Bookings of 6 or more generate a free place or a group discount, but you are advised to avoid July and August when it is "just too hot".

An exciting opportunity has arisen to acquire a house in the French cycling hotbed of Brittany can be viewed here.
